The Sturtevant Family

Our motley crew consists of Michelle (mom) who will write the majority of the content on our blog; Scott (whom I call Stu and is dad); Paul (first born); Emma (second born) and Isabella (third born). My and Stu’s adventure began in 2004, when we started dating long distance (Maine to Oklahoma). Stu was active duty Army and I was a social worker, until I moved to Oklahoma to join him. What followed was a world-wind Army life consisting of 6 duty stations on 2 continents plus 3 kids over the next 12 years. Stu retired from military service in 2016, but we weren’t quite down and decided an overseas adventure would be good for us and the kids. We are firm believers that perspectives are important and we wanted out family to gain more perspective from living outside the US. So here we are in Italy!

So here we are in Vicenza. A new country, a new adventure, new jobs from Stu and Michelle, new schools for the kids. After 3 months, I feel confident saying we are thriving; maybe not everyday or every moment, but most of the time we are able to see the beauty of where we live and have gratitude for being her and being together.
